Special to Gatorsports.com The Florida spring football game is set for April 12 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, the school announced Wednesday. More details about the day will be released later. The tentative start of spring practice is March 19.

You don’t have many chances to catch the UF men’s basketball team at the O’Connell Center this month. Actually, just two opportunities. The first is Tuesday against Kansas, 7 p.m. And then, Dec. 29 vs. Savannah State at 3 p.m. The Gators play another non-conference game at home on Jan. 4 vs. Richmond at 3 p.m. before beginning the SEC schedule at the O-Dome on Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. vs. South Carolina.
The Latest Line out of Las Vegas has Florida State by 27 over Florida. That may go change either way by kickoff Saturday. What do you think? FSU will win by more than 27 or will UF hold it at under that line?

Florida, coming off an 11-2 record in coach Will Muschamp’s second season, is ranked No. 10 in The Associated Press preseason Top 25 poll released today. It’s the same spot the coaches ranked the Gators in their poll released earlier this month. UF has been ranked in the preseason AP poll 10 years in a row. If junior quarterback Jeff Driskel is to have a breakout season at Florida, the offensive line will have to do its part by providing protection. The Gators allowed 39 sacks for a loss of 283 yards last season. Conversely, the UF defense had 30 sacks for minus 197 yards. By Kevin Brockway Staff writer Florida rising sophomore linebacker Antonio Morrison was arrested Saturday night on charges of simple battery. Morrison, a projected starter in 2013, had 34 tackles and one sack as a freshman. Morrison, 19, was arrested after he punched a Gainesville nightclub bouncer, according to the Gainesville Police Department. He was booked into Alachual County Jail at 6:03 a.m. Sunday. Coach Will Muschamp’s transformation of the Florida football program from a 7-6 team in his first year to an 11-1 club that finished the regular season ranked No. 3 in the BCS standings in a year’s time has been amazing.
