It’s been more than 50 years since NBA legend Rick Barry was selected with the No. 2 pick by the San Francisco Warriors. And with the NBA Draft on Thursday, the Warriors have decided to evaluate the former eight-time NBA All-Star’s son.

Former Gators guard Canyon Barry will workout Tuesday with the Golden State Warriors, the Gainesville Sun has learned.

Projected to go undrafted or be taken late in the second round, Barry, 23, has already worked out with the San Antonio Spurs and the New York Knicks.

In addition, Barry has interviewed with the Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns and the Washington Wizards.

And it’s not just Barry’s father who has seen success at the next level – his four older brothers all played professionally, with Jon and Brent each spending more than a decade competing in the NBA.

However, if Barry is to join the Warriors, winners of two of the last three NBA Championships, it will likely be as an undrafted free agent. The Warriors do not currently hold any picks in the 2017 NBA Draft.
