Former Gators defensive back Matt Elam is an NFL free agent, but his hopes of signing with an NFL team for the 2018 season are in jeopardy once again.

Elam, 25, was charged with grand theft and battery in Delray Beach at 8:48 a.m. on Monday, according to Palm Beach County records. Elam is currently being held on $4,500 bond.

It’s Elam’s second arrest in just 90 days. A first-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2013 NFL Draft, Elam was arrested on Feb. 27 in Miami and charged with possession of more than 20 grams of cannabis, possession of cannabis with the intent to sell or deliver, and possession of a controlled substance.

A knee injury cut short Elam’s 2016 season, and the Ravens declined to pick up his fifth-year option.
