It’s been less than a year since Jeremy Foley announced he was retiring after 25 years as Florida’s athletics director.
Meanwhile, Foley has remained at the university as Emeritus Athletics Director, but he’ll be adding another title to his ever-expanding resume.
Beginning Fall 2017, Foley will serve as a Professor of Practice in Sport Leadership, according to a press release from the University of Florida’s Department of Tourism, Recreation and Sport Management.
Foley will soon join the sport management and serve as an instructional faculty member, according to the release.
His future duties will include speaking lectures to both undergraduate and graduate students across multiple courses, as well as an annual seminar on Leading People and Organizations in Athletics.
The release notes that the department enrolls approximately 750 students and has 22 full-time faculty members on staff.
Aside from his quarter-century tenure as the Gators former AD, Foley has years of hands-on experience when it comes to financial management.
He served as the chief financial officer of the University Athletic Association and received a master’s degree in sports administration from Ohio University in 1976.
