Former Florida Gators and Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Louis Murphy was arrested Wednesday at Tampa International Airport for carrying a loaded gun in a carry-on backpack. ESPN was the first to report Murphy’s arrest.

Murphy, who does not have a concealed weapons permit, faces a third-degree felony charge. Murphy told police the gun was his.
The 29-year-old Murphy was transported to Hillsborough County Jail, where he posted $2,000 bond, according to jail records.
Murphy played for the Gators from 2005-08 before being selected in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. He most recently played for the Bucs from 2014-15.
