San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Becky Hammon has reportedly turned down an offer to become the Florida Gators women’s basketball head coach, according to a report from Swish Appeal’s Mike Robinson.

According to Robinson, “Florida’s offer was more than what Hammon was receiving with the Spurs, it was in the lower tier when it comes to the average salary in the SEC.”

New Gators athletics director Scott Stricklin, looking to make his first major hire in the position, reportedly identified Hammon as the top candidate for the job.
