A whirlwind of rumors hit the Twittersphere early Friday morning, before they were put to rest hours later.

The speculation was that Florida quarterback Tyler Murphy would not play Saturday at Missouri because of an injury.

Then, it was first reported by The Sun that Murphy hurt his shoulder against LSU, but would play in the Missouri game according to sources.

A Sun reporter saw Murphy at Gainesville Regional Airport later Friday. When asked about the injury, Murphy said he had no pain in his shoulder and was good to go.

He also said he practiced all week, although sources indicated otherwise. Murphy did not throw any passes early in the week but looked fine in Thursday’s practice, the sources said.

Starting linebacker Ronald Powell (sprained ankle) was wearing a protective boot at the airport. UF coach Will Muschamp said Wednesday he hoped to get him back at practice that afternoon.

UPDATE: Following Florida’s 36-17 loss to Missouri, Murphy admitted he did not throw in practice until Thursday due to a shoulder injury he suffered against LSU.
